I think it will become an Australian classic. I enjoyed this, always wondering how the word would fit into the story. The novel opens with an adult Whiskey in a coma after a freak automobile accident so the story of the boys' relationship and eventual estrangement is told entirely through the voice of Charlie. Her touch causes a fatal heart attack and resulted in her accidentally killing her girlfriend. Past and present are seamlessly woven into an incredibly emotional journey of self discovery that is ultimately quite uplifting. What a fantastic book!
